Have a good time with your food (2013)
This painting series envisions a human man in the normal act of eating a meal while inexplicably
vexed by a host of tiny, Brueghelesque characters. In Have a good time with your food (M),
a host of these intruders converge upon the man's meal, carrying off food items and even
sawing apart his table from below. Have a good time with your food (M2) shows the man
attempting to sleep, having eaten, while curious, tiny interlopers prod him and pull
at his bib. In Have a good time with your food (pirates), the small characters undertake
a voyage of discovery in a soup tureen, sailing boats created from carrots and leeks.
In envisioning these scenarios, the series explores the everyday and the imaginary as
overlapping worlds in conflict.
